I served in the Navy on board the light cargo ship USS Mark (AKL-12) as the ship's yeoman. We delivered ammunition and supplies to many of the Army and Navy bases along the larger rivers of the Mekong Delta.

Here is a picture of me inside the ship's office taken in November 1970.

This is one of only two photos that I have of my tour in Vn. At the time of this photo I was assigned to 557th MP Co, Long Binh, RVN. My rank was Spec4, MOS 95B20.

John,

I took the one large picture and divided it into 2
pictures - John3.jpg and John2.jpg.

Here is the web address for each one...

Each picture is still pretty large, but I think they will
look O.K. on the BBS.

This is the only other picture I have of me from my tour in Vn. I was with B/720th MP Bn when this was taken. The photo was taken at the motorpool. This was when we had convoy duty. That's an APC next to me...I think! Also...I believe I am holding a M-16 in right hand. MOS 95B10

I hope y'all don't mind if I put my baby brother's pic here below mine. I know he's not on the board but, I keep trying to get him here. This was taken in/near Michelin Rubber Plantation. Rick was with the 25th Inf Div from Jan 68-Dec 68. I'm not sure of his rank at this particular time. He was a 2nd Lt. when he got there and a 1st Lt when he left.

Shadow,

In order to post a picture, you have to have the picture (usually a jpeg file) at a location that is available at all times - like the file servers of your Internet Service Provider.

If you need help, just email me at stanlambert@prodigy.net and I will get you fixed up in no time.

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to TFF and thank-you for your service Jim. I spent my time in the Corps working on the Hornets, but I fell in love with jets in my early years, namely the Phantom. Beautiful in my opinion; ugly as sin when it comes to glideslope ratio though,

Mineral Jim...Welcome...Your fondness for the Old Phantom shows thru...I had a good friend, navy chief petty officer Richard Brown who was a metalsmith rating.. He almost seemed wedded to the F-4...I recall stationed on Okinawa in 1963...Camp Kinser, right at the south end of the Kadena AFB take off pattern...Those Jocks would cut in their burners right over our Seabee camp and just make things rattle and sometimes, come apart...That is where the oft-used term was first used..."IT'S THE SOUND OF FREEDOM"!!!!
