Default kit skill levels.

Hello I have looked for a Lincoln or Philadelphia derringer to no avail. Am considering a Lyman Plains pistol. Are the kits from Lyman fitted well? I am not a model maker and find little joy in a kit. Further, could not one of the Lyman pistols be shortened? Thank you.
