Default Need help ID'ing knife

Just picked it up this morning,
was in a USN MK2 fiber sheath,

Take a close look Kieran,
Ka-bar was only one maker of mkII's
there was more then one

It's a cheap copy of a Kabar, likely made in Japan-possibly India.

I think the stamp says "Solingen", which, if it does would be a bit odd.

I kind of thought solingen
myself artabar. that kind of
got me a little excited.
it bothers me that down below
is scratched out.
It would kill me if it said
japan

Then there's the fact that it has four
instead of five finger grooves, and the
cut out at the back end of the blade.
Mr. DeShivs may be right.

Sheath is the real McCoy though.

Yeah, it would kinda suck having a WWII era U.S. knife stamped with a German city.

I was thinking maybe it could be a pre or post war knife but I can't find any production or issue dates.

Just finished burnishing those scratches down

Nip knife....
use it for weeding
Now i gotta fill that sheath

Just a note, there is a k-bar style
made in Solin, Japan i just found out.
