Default Prayer Request

I am grateful that we have a forum here where we can ask for prayer. Thank you Sam.

Guys and gals, I am going in for Surgery on Wednesday morning. I am having a Nissen fundoplication, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissen_fundoplication, and this is the third time around for me.

I had the first surgery about 12 years ago but shortly after that I was in a automobile accident and the steering wheel hit my chest and loosened the stitches (the stitches hold everything to together for life) so I had to have it redone. However, the second time around was not successful. The reason for having the surgery is because I have had severe acid reflux since I was young and I started to get Barrett esophagus, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrett%27s_Disease, and Barrett's is a terrible beginning to cancer. Also, the acid reflux was going into my lungs at night and was making my asthma intolerable and I was having pneumonia about 2-3 times a year. So, my doc agreed it needed to be done. So now about twelve years later my last surgery shows complete failure so I need to have it redone. I found a specialist that instead of using 4 stitches to hold stuff together, he will use 7 stitches and he also reinforces everything with meshing. He was honest and said there is a 2% failure rate but he was confident that my surgery would be successful because I am in good shape and my last surgeon is known for doing "Clean" work so it shows signs of being successful. The new surgeon said he is certain it will be successful and I will never need to see him again after he is done.

I am asking for prayers. Please pray that it would be in God's Will for my surgery to be successful and that on Wednesday morning Jesus Christ would be present leading the surgery for success. Then one last prayer request. Please pray for my wife that she would find comfort while she is waiting during my surgery and that she would not worry about it because Jesus will be with both of us.

Then, I am sorry to keep going on, but you guys know I have a sense of humor so here it goes. I know I joke around with the finger nail polish, but if I wake up and find my finger nails and toe nails painted I am gonna laugh and it will probably break my stitches. So, please don't do that. Got it stingray and, T2S, and 68? And, because I will be on a liquid diet for about two month's I had better not wake up and find JLA standing there eating some smoked brisket or a huge Taco Bell burrito and then politely offer me some crappy liquefied rice pudding and apple sauce. And, oh ya, I can see it now. There will be nursing home jokes on here when I return on Thursday and I am sure there will be plenty of pictures with "Real tasty food" dedicated to me. I must admit, everybody here is the best.

Thank You and God Bless Every One of You,
Jim

Why is my wife laughing at your post? She made the comment that it would be funny to do that to me.

Heavenly Father, I come before you today uplifting Jim.
I ask, Lord, that you would be with him on Wednesday when he has surgery for this problem.
I ask that you would intervene with the surgeon and all the medical people involved.
I ask that you would give each one perfect guidance, that everything would be done correctly.
I ask that you would be with his wife at this time also, and give her perfect assurance that you are in charge, and will care for him.
I ask that you would bring about a complete healing from this.
I ask that the recovery would be quick, with no complications or set-backs of any kind.
I ask that this problem will never come again, so no further surgery ever be needed.

And I ask all of these things in the name of Jesus, the Christ - the Great Physician.

Amen -

And as for the diet? I will see if I can send you some of the broth from my home made chicken noodle soup.
Ask the guys from the Tx. TFF BBQ.
I mad it for them. I think they liked it? They finished off almost 23 qts. of it.

Prayers from across the pond, Jim.
As Terry prayed, Amen.
Psalm 103:1-5 is what we sang and prayed as a family for each other whenever one of us was sick...
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
3 who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5 who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.
