Default Jesus Racing Team Takes Chequered Flag at Clipsal 500

In an amazing weekend of racing, the Jesus Racing Team have taken line honours in the ‘Legends’ race of the Yokohama V8 Ute Series – protected by Armor All at Adelaide’s Clipsal 500.
Driver Andrew Fisher teamed up with rally champion and stunt driver Rick Bates for the feature race, which marks the 10th Anniversary of V8 Ute Racing in Australia.
The 12 lap race also saw a driver change mid-way through, allowing the ‘Legends’ to also take the wheel.
After an event-filled and action-packed race, the Jesus Ute cross the line first, watched by 250,000 people live at the track and another million watching on television.
The race saw plenty of true V8 Ute carnage with two safety car interventions.
Andrew and his “Legend”, rally car and stunt driver started at5th on the grid.
The start was frantic and the Jesus Ute lost a spot early on .
On lap 2 Kim Jane hit the wall, allowing both Jack Elsegood and Andrew ‘Fishtail’ Fisher to get past on the narrow, winding circuit.
At the next corner Grant Johnson came together with Gary McDonald in an incident almost blocked the track, but allowed the Jesus to maneuver into 2nd spot.
Gary McDonald couldn’t get his car off the wall and it was in a dangerous position so the Safety Car came on the track.
The next lap saw the Pit Window open for the driver change and the frontrunner, Jack Elsegood team chose not go in, which meant the Jesus Ute was the first car into pit lane- and with co-driver Rick Bates now at the wheel, they were first back onto the track.
Rick had a lead of 3 three seconds back to the next car of Meidecke when Tim Shaw hit a tyre stack, braking his steering and sending him careering into the wall and erupting in flames.

The Safety Car again came onto the track and the race was finished early, giving the Jesus Racing Team a win for the Race and second overall for the weekend!

The win puts the team second in the championship.
The Jesus Ute is lovingly maintained by the Sieders Racing Team and in a great weekend of motor racing for Sieders Motorsport, Ute newcomer David Sieders sits in the championship lead, with Andrew and the Jesus Racing Team second on the ladder.
“We couldn’t have hoped for a better result for round one, “ says Fisher. “It’s great for people to see the Jesus Ute performing so successfully. It’s important people understand that Christians can do anything. Even win on the racetrack!
“We are an impact ministry. Winning gives us a greater connection point with the kids, which is what it’s all about.
“A podium win for the Jesus Racing Team also helps raise the profile of Jesus in the motor racing community, and in the eyes of the millions who watch the sport on television.”

I don't see how they could lose with that name, Jack -

Well done the Jesus Racing team.

Sounds like they can join ranks with Tebow.
