homemade 2.7" cannon, any value?

I guess this is the best place to put this: Many years ago I built a small blackpowder cannon, very close in size to what was once called a mountain howitzer. I make balls either from cement (1/2 lb.) or lead (3lb.) and used to shoot at old cars or vans a local junk yard would loan to me for "ventillation". The cement made a nice hole in one side then would turn to powder, the lead went thru and put big dents in my railroad tie backstop. I know these pictures stink, but my cheap camera doesn't speak english and this is the best it'll do. Unfortunately my area has been "developed' subatantially over the years and the new residents don't like booms. I'm legal and haven't been told to stop 'yet' but I'm sure it'll come. My question is: does this thing have any value, might I actually be able to sell it? I'm sure the liability issue would need be covered in writing.

They sell pretty well on Ebay-but you will need much better pictures.
Sell it as a "signal cannon," not made for firing projectiles.

call the atf before you do anything.not knowing is no legal defense.i have a good friend of mine who did the same as you only his shot coke cans full of concrete.he sold his years ago and to this day he is afraid it may come back and bite him.value?depends on who its sold to.to an enthusiest(pardon my spelling)one price.to some nut case as we see on tv killing numerous people another.think about it. old semperfi

I have a One Pounder, which also shoots Golf Balls too. No problem selling it as long as you state in your bill of sale that it is a "salute cannon" and not to be used for "live fire." Keep a copy of the bill of sale for reference. No Problem.......

Ok if it uses BLACK POWDER and loads form the muzzle end then the ATF does not care as it is not a firearm ( under law ). No restriction on building or selling them at the fed level your state may have some rules I believe NY city has a law restricting black powder.

Sorry I forgot about the North East and West Coast Socialistic States of America. In Alabama if it loads from the front ........... have a blast! I once lived in California when the rules were much better. Now its Kalifornia the gun grabbing State. Move to the West or South to taste firearm freedom....... P.S. My one pounder is worth around $800.00 or so.

Sell it to civil war re-enactors bet you get a good price AND they could tell you what to sell it for if you go to a few of the enactments by asking how much their arty units paid for theirs.
