Default Margret Hornady supports Dem

Just got this and haven't vetted it yet, but I trust the source.

Quote:
Margaret Hornady has openly tossed her support to Democrat gun control advocate Bob Kerry in Nebraska today. How someone who has inherited an easy living from the hunters and shooters of this great nation to support an idiot such as this I don't know. In my mind, this is totally unacceptable and I can't stand by quietly and watch this. I am at this time no longer going to support a company that does not support my rights.

I have sent an email to Hornady, feel free to do the same.

She looks like a pro choice Republican to me. But I have often noticed that business people tend to contribute to more than one party.

This was posted in another gun forum, and it appears to be true:
Quote:
The owners of Hornady are big supporters of a gun grabbing candidate

Margaret Hornady-David has endorsed Bob Kerrey. She and her husband donated money to his campaign.

DAVID, DONALD M - Kerrey, Bob (D) - HORNADY GUN MFG. $2,500 06/18/12
HORNADY-DAVID, MARGARET J - Kerrey, Bob (D) - RETIRED $2,500 06/18/12

This from here: http://www.opensecrets.org/address/c....php?zip=68801

How in the hell can owners of an ammo and reloading products company support a known gun hater???
NRA says:

Quote:
The National Rifle Association has endorsed Deb Fischer in her Senate contest with Bob Kerrey.

Kerrey has "a history of opposing the rights of gun owners," the NRA said.

When he was a member of the Senate, the NRA said, Kerrey voted for a proposed semi-automatic gun ban bill.
I'll not be buying anything Hornady makes.

Glad I don't have any Hornady reloading equipment. When I use up my hornady bullets I will buy other brands. Can't stand that kind of sheet. It is getting where all I can do is shoot, don't go to movies (don't want to support hollywierd) now I have to start watching what shooting supplies to use!! Liberals SUCK!!!

So far what I have found is Adrian Smith, Lee Terry, and Todd Tiahrt are Republicans. That leaves Margaret Hornady. If she is pro-choice that is a bummer. I am pro-life 100% but I know many gun guys that are pro-choice. God will deal with the pro-choice people. Other then Margret, I can not find where Steve or Jason have supported the dems. I actually know Jason Hornady a little bit and find it hard to believe that he would support the anti-gun mobs.

I hope I am not wrong because they would lose my loyalty in a heart beat.

In addition to Margaret Hornady's $2500 donation, "HORNADY GUN MFG." also made a $2500 donation.

Who would control the company's policy on political donations?

But regardless, it's pretty clear that the Hornady company itself made the donation to the anti-gun liberal candidate.

While such donations are important for entertainment companies, they need to understand who their customers are and show some respect.

I sent Hornady mfg an e mail in concerns from what I saw posted about them. This is the reply i got back. i believe that people like margret and don would really like to discredit Hornady mfg so this is what i found. Hope this helps.

Dear Sir or Ma'am,

With a few lingering questions still circulating, we offer one final response.

As stated before, Margaret Hornady-David & Don David are not employees, board members, shareholders or owners in any way of Hornady Manufacturing and they derive no income from our company or its operations. Margaret retired in 2009 and Don in 1999. (We previously stated “early 2000’s” simply because few could remember the exact year he retired). We are a private company so we don’t often share our business.

As for Don listing “Hornady Gun Mfg.” on his donation, he retired in 1999 and we are not a gun manufacturer. We do not know why it is listed that way.

Websites, including the State of Nebraska, that list Margaret as Vice President are simply out-of-date. As previously stated, she retired from the company in 2009. Anything listed to the contrary is erroneous, nor have we taken the time to update them.

None of us have control over how our relatives think or vote – as much as we wish we did. Yes, Thanksgiving is going to be awkward for the Hornady family this year.

Sincerely,

Steve and Jason Hornady

I have spoke with both Steve and Jason Hornady enough to know they don't support negative liberal bull. I make certain that when I buy certain products to buy the procucts that support what I believ. When I heard this about Hornady I could not believe it because I just spoke with Jason Hornady about the current Obama status about 2 years ago and trust me, he doesn't support the libs any more then you or i. I was relieved to hear back from them on this.

The board, plain and simple. It wouldn't be the first time such a thing has happened, many 'boards' play both sides of the political fence.
"It's just good business" many would say.

Your welcome. I am not here to point fingers or blame but that just did not sound right to me. All the big name gun companies are under attack from all sides so I just am careful to check things out first. One thing I have learned, all these companies are ready to back up their positions quickly. A simple "Contact us" at the bottom of their web page will get lots of results quick.

Also, I will bet that the person that started this little "Rumor" is out there on a gun forum some where laughing because they know they started something that is not true.

That is easy to answer. I would get rid of their E.Q. and go with brand X,,, even if it were not as good of a brand.

thanks for the work there Highboy!

I usually buy Noslers and Sierras but I like some of Hornady's stuff also. I'm not sure I'd boycott them entirely over that but I'm pleased to see the response there.

Why would that surprise you? I don't wear anything but Wrangler pants because Lee and Levi's support the libs. I buy either "White's" brand boot's or Cabala's brand shoes because once again, I watch where and who my money goes to. I don't go to movies unless it has an actor that I care for and it has to have a anti lib story line (the last one was the story about the guy who ended up being eaten by the alpha wolf, I thought it was pro-kill wolf movie so we went with family to watch it). That comes to about one movie every 1 to 2 years AND I only go to the dollar movies. I won't pay full price for HollyWeird movies. I don't subscribe to cable TV because most of the garbage on there is pretty liberal and I won't waste my time. I have been home since last Thursday and have only turned the TV on to see if Gunsmoke might be on during the day and to see how the Dallas Cowboys were doing last night which wasn't good and even though I am a Dallas fan I pay almost zero attention to pro ball because it has lost my attention due to the money grubbers. I listen to the radio to get the BSU games. Pepsi-Cola is my favorite beverage but I drink less ans less of it because they are liberal scumholes. If I see and in store product with a celebrity with a smug smiling face next to it I DON'T BUY IT. I don't buy snack foods that support the liberal movement (Ben and Jerry's ice cream,,, not in this house hold). I don't support the AARP and never will. I will seek other alternatives when I am at that age. I know it is impossible to cut out everyting that is liberal but I try to make my stand. I have written many companies asking them what their political stances are and that is a great way to let them know that I will not support them in any way shape or form if they support the liberal left.

Switching to an RCBS or going to straight Lee equipment would be easy for me to do if I knew that Hornady was supporting the liberals. Thank God they are not though because that would have ruined my day.

Thanks for asking Dan.

Well, since you asked, there have been 2 people join the forum as of late that supported obama and so far not one word has been said. I guess it surprises me when I see folks threaten to be so staunch against anything or anyone in support of dems from a distance but yet so neutral. Just wondering. No questions, no debates, nothing.

Good to know about Wranglers, that's all I wear for pants anymore. I have the cargo pants, love 'em to death.

I would hate to have to consider a boycott of something I love so much! And I'm on the front of a Hornady catalog in '99 with a hornady shirt, so proof of guilt by association, haha!
