I am having a hard time nailing down what model and make this is.
I need to get a mag. for it. I have looked at Stevens,Savage, just about all the ones that the internet says it is and no luck.Even went threw the book looking at pics. The only one close is a single shot savage. But no luck finding this one. Thanks Mike

That has to be a storebrand Savage Model 4, an early one when Savage used finger grooved stocks. Should use their banana clip type magazine Goofy. The back end of the receiver with the dual vertical slots were for a Savage design sight.

Thanks for the help
![]() This type of thing can be a PIA! The 56 looks right but the bolt is a little different and the 4 has a different trigger guard but the bolt looks right.(I wish there was a smilies that shows someone pulling out there hair). Mike Last edited by goofy; 10-23-2012 at 07:15 AM.. |

With storebranded rifles they often didn't replicate exactly the standard factory model. Things like the trigger guard, sights, etc could be different.
