Default New toy!

Got this boat yesterday. I still have to install trolling motor and a Bimini top. It's waaay too windy here to give her a trial run due to Hurricane Sally out in the Atlantic. No shooting next weekend for me!

Oh my Clinger! She's a beauty.

How far offshore would you be able to get with your new boat? I have a friend in Houston that takes his Mako 30+ miles to fish some oil rigs, but only after carefully reviewing the weather info.

This boat isnt for offshore, although if the weather is looking good I could go 20-30 miles or so. Its mainly for inshore, grass flats, back bay stuff.

is that a 150 on there? sure would get your butt to the blind in a hurry. LOL

I am working the wife into an Alumacraft Competitor 175 with a 115 Yamaha 4stroke. it has 2 BIG livewells and a port side cooler. plus it tops out at 52mph.

it beats the crap out of my current boat.

Its a 115 Optimax. Thats what the boat is rated for so it will get me there. How fast I dont know yet. Still waiting for the wind to lay down.
Good luck with getting your boat. That thing shoud zip with the 115. How heavy? Mine is about 1700-1800 lbs. Cant wait to launch!
Edit: Installed the Minn-Kota trolling motor and the Bimini top yesterday.

Nice boat! I think you need a bigger motor.

Just kidding. you will have a lot of fun. I had a nice boat once, but I sold it. I had to use it during the week. On weekends, it took about 3 hrs. to launch and 3 hrs. to trailer. Man, what crowds on the weekend.
I hope you have a good place nearby to fish and not too crowded.
