Sorry for all the folks in the path of the storm. Its a little unusual not seeing any palm trees in the pictures though. Normally, the damage is in my part of the country.

I have seen complete and total distruction in FL, Tx, La, Ms, Al, over the years. I saw things in N.O. I just could not tell nor would anyone believe me. A cow on a roof. A deer hung in a balcony. A car floated up and landed on a fence. The dirt the smell. Skyrise condos fall apart, ripped apart in half. Miles of interstate and highways just gone. Bridges made of heavy concrete just gone.

yea the fun is just starting for them. But it could have been worse, could have been a cat 3 or 4. Its bad but this was just a taste.

You know who i think got hit real hard was those people in Japan who got hit with the Tsunami. That was total and complete distruction I dont even want to know about.

That is no joke on that MADE IN ???? Drywall, some nasty stuff they use to put it together, no standards, no OSHA, no nothing!!

I'm watching this on NBC news right now, OMG what a mess.

They need some massive pumps to help get this all cleaned up.
It might be an ongoing problem if there's any reoccuring floods.

Sandy was a minimal hurricane, lots of water but not a lot of wind. Think what it would have been if they had winds like Camille, Andrew, Katrina, or even Ivan. Atlantic City (the rubble) would be 5 miles inland. I worked in Waveland, Pass Christian, and Bay St Louis doing cleanup after Camille. Never have I ever seen anything like it.

Their building codes are gona change. A big problem is also the old growth weak trees. I agree they just got a taste of a real storm. 13' storm surge??? Give me a break try 25 and 30'. yup the rest of the country has no clue.

Today is the second day. They are still making roads passable. Tomorrow most all the roads will be passable again. Then the debris sitting on the road curb for weeks will take its toll. Like a ice pick stabbing you in the back.
People will look off into the distance and everything will look different, that plays on the mind too. Only to further remind you that nothing will ever be the same.


Today some are learning what it is like to stand in line for hours for 50 bucks of fuel. Tomorrow the longevity of the situation will hit home for many and that is when your gona start to see some people come unglued. I can pretty much tell you day by day what is gona happen, so can you. Today i finally heard they expect it to take weeks to get the power back to everyone. You aint fooling me. 5.9 million still without power. Some folks got a good month to wait. They are gona come unglued. Been there done that.

Every body is praising obama and Christie now, wait until they have been without power and water a few days and they start wondering what is taking so long.

So far the looting hasn't really started, just wait.
