Default Chicago...

The powers that be in Chicago have decided to drop the notion of a "5 cents per bullet tax" (gosh, imagine how much it would've been had they wanted to tax the entire cartridge!), but they've apparently decided to retain the $25 levy on each firearm purchase. Story's on Drudge Report.

They're afraid Obama will move back there and it'll cost them a bundle for security.

Dropping that tax was very good news for me. I buy a lot of my ammo at our Cabela's right by my house that is in cook county. The store is right on the border of cook and kane county.

To show you how the politicians work here after Cabela's opened their 12 million dollar location the town of Hoffman Estates wanted to outlaw the sale of guns in their town. This is after they gave all the permits to Cabela's to build their site.

Cabela's got their lawyers on this in a big way and They got the town to drop the no gun law. I am sure if Cabela's were to open their store here again it would not be in cook county.
