Default Wolf vs CCI Lg Pistol Primers

Totally unscientific but it helped occupy my time today...10 of each-.44spl-7gr 231(each hand weighed)approx amount of dacron-240gr cast swc....
CCI-972-993fps
Wolf-1002-1052fps(9 were within 20fps)
Chronoed at 10ft

Wish I could find either one locally. Everyone's stock is gone and they have no idea when it will be replaced. The only primers available around here are Remington. No WSP or CCI 500 to be had.

How does the primer have such an impact on velocity?

The larger the flash form the primer, the faster all the powder burns.

Lamentations Chapter 5:
1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
