Well I fially got the new trigger in and was able to take a short break to try out the new reloads you did for me.
THEY ARE HOT ![]() Started out at 100yd then went out to 200yd. Still need to fine tune windage but think I got elevation good. All but 1 went good the one that is in the middle (bottem) I don't know why it went so far right? I was taken shots of three then let the .50 cool down then shot 3 more. I started in the left upper corner and went clockwise with 6 at the last one. Finished up in the center with 9 at 200 yards. Shots were taken from a bench with a front sand bag only. For those that don't know this is a hopped up .50 cal Beowulf. It has a 18"barrel(with the comp.)And Josh reloaded the ammo with Hornady 300 grain Flex tips. I will get out again to finish up final adjustments on scope this week. Thanks Josh they are just what the doctor ordered!!!! Opening day 11 days away ![]() Mike

Hope you get the opportunity to use it and fill your freezer. Nice shooting. Good reloads.

Holy smokes Mike. those shoot fantastic. Much better than I expected. I figured maybe 2 MOA but that 200 yd group is only a hair over MOA. More than enough accuracy to get er done. Do you have the room to try 300 yds? I suspect the drop will be significant but I think youve got the accuracy to get it done.
Dont worry. I have the load saved in my load tables. so the next batch will be performance clones of that very ammo.

I got a 300+shot at the neighbors land but I have to wait till after season to use it.Right now he is set up for hunting.
Yes they shot great all I have to do is set windage to the right 1 click I think and I should be there. Then all I can blame is myself for a bad shot. I don't know why I pulled that one shot well to the right so far? But you will have this and it still would have taken my deer just might have had to track it. I think with these rounds close is good enough but right on is always better. Mike |

300 gr bullet at 1850 is good for a shade over 2200 ft lbs of energy. According the ballistics drop chart They are still super sonic at 275 and drop subsonic between 275 and 300. so limit your shots to 275 and closer as the bullets will most likely go unstable as they drop sub sonic. and at 275 with a velocity of about 1100 fps they are still hitting with a shade over 800 ft lbs of energy. or pretty much a .44 magnum at point blank. so yeah.. theyll drop deer like a sack of taters out to 275 with good accuracy.. according to the math of course..

The only time I would or could shoot over 200 yards is on a target.
While I am hunting around here I could only get up to a 175+- yard shot. So with the 200 yard shots I took I am sure if I see it I can drop it ![]() I can not wait to see how much they expand now that I know they fly better then I was shooting. Mike |

Nah.. itll penetrate thru and youll never find the bullet. Take a 55 gal drum and an old couch cushion. set them beside your porch, fill the drum with water to the top and set the cushion over it. Then just fire down thru the cushion intot he barrel of water. the bullet will expand fully and you can extract it by dumping the water barrel over.
I do it this way all the time. cept I just use an old swimmin pool ladder beside the barrel. And be warned, that fitty is gonn make that barrel jump a little. even with the cushion in place your feet might get wet.

I see what you are getting at
![]() I thought you wanted me to shoot through the trash can not into it. So the round will expand when it hits the water.I did not know that. I will have to look around for a 55 gal steel drum. Will a plastic trash can(55gal) work. That's all I have.or will it blow up? I thought that a bullet will ricochet off water? How far should the muzzel be from the cushion?. Plastic is fine. I use an old polymer drum
And the muzzle doesnt need to be far away. I do pistols all the time just standing beside the drum. prolly 6 inches or so. The mre the merrier with a rifle tho. Rifles tend to make the drum jump a bit more.
