I second the Coolidge vote. The more I read about him the more I like him.
He personified true conservatism. Led the country to prosperity, high employment, low taxes, balanced budget, and he did not seek a second term.

Ronald Reagan

Greatest in my lifetime was Reagan.

I find partisan commentaries and criticism of Reagan to be highly emotional and lacking in substance. He was not perfect by any means; the model for defense spending he implemented was necessary at the time, but has persisted and is one of the primary reasons we can't get control of our deficit. Reagan belongs in the top ten "Greatest Presidents" list.

1) Effectiveness - He reduced inflation, increased employment and cut taxes. Appointed the first female Supreme Court Justice, Sandra Day O'Connor. Sent US troops to Grenada to prevent the communist takeover. Forged a stronger relationship with Britain. Won the respect of Mikhail Gorbachev and effectively won the cold war, reducing the nuclear weapons in both countries. 2) Inspires Confidence and Patriotism - Totally transformed America's confidence in the economy and instilled a sense of security with his handling of the arms race and foreign relations as a whole. He was a very charismatic leader.

You would actually have to figure out what people were really running the show for Ronnie since he was suffering from Old Timer's disease while in office and cast your vote for them...whoever that was. Maybe the other countries were scared of him because who knows what a guy with Old Timer's will do. Some **** themselves and some fly off the handle at the Retirement homes. Ronnie probably did both.

I like JFK, because you know he had to be doing something right if our own corrupt government put the hit out on it's own Prez.

Anyway, I would include JFK as well, but only because he saved this country from the brink of nuclear war in October 1962.

Who really knocked off JFK and why? I would suggest taking a look at this.
