Good for Israel - a country to be proud of. Since the US won't back them they have zero fear of the UN also. Obozo won't get Israeli backing for anything he goes to the UN for a vote for either. The Israeli forces WILL do what is necessary - Israel is very used to fighting to exist.

Just catching up on this, been out in the garage from morning to 10pm doing a complete teardown, adding shelving and re reack and stack, usually listen to talk radio when out there but listened to music all day instead,
Good for Israel, this may the time that Egypt and/or Iran makes a mistake and Benji completely goes off and level their countries, as others have already speculated, I wonder what the fallout (no pun intended) would be for us, would gas skyrocket? wonder what the effect would be for us, |

A little too soon to speculate on what this latest round might mean for the US, but the stock markets dropped yesterday on the news. That doesn't mean much by itself, speculators use this kind of thing as a buying opportunity. If a ground assault is launched and Egypt/Iran, etc. jump in big time, then all bets are off. |

Hamas is targeting Tel Aviv now. 2 rockets landed in the suburb of Rishon LeZion. http://www.jpost.com/Defense/Article.aspx?id=291954 . I think we'll see troops and tanks in Gaza in the next 24 hrs or so. Story says FADJR rockets. Probably the Fadjr5 (Made in Iran). Range 75Km (~46 miles) which sounds right given the distance between Gaza and TelAviv, about 40 miles between the centers of both cities, so well within range.

Do you think we will see a more agressive Israel now that Obma is here for four more years? BEcause they can no longer count on us to keep the heathens at bay?

Obama is a very weak leader. Both our friends and enimies can see this. His lack of direction and leadership ability will cost many American lives before this ends.

Obomba has done more for the islamic caliphate than anybody has. The US is no longer an ally to Israel.

A guy told me today while talking about his leadership in this matter......."well Obama won...so get over it"..... I said "Israel won that land in the 60's, now get over it."

More news today. Israel calling up more reserves, numbers being talked about are up to 75,000. Armor, infantry, engineers. A couple rockets landed near Jerusalem early this morning.
Nobody is interested in a cease fire at the moment. They're going to slug it out. Might end up as a tag team match. Our good buddies in Iraq (you know, the ones we saved from Saddam) had this to say: Quote:

This sounds like a rumor, but I've seen a couple blog posts from Israel, that part of the IDF is moving North towards the Lebanon border (Hezbollah stomping grounds). Apparently something is up other than Gaza.
Also some reports that at least a few rockets have been fired from the Sinai (Egypt). Last edited by GunnyGene; 11-16-2012 at 05:57 PM.. |

The problem with using nukes is that the attacks on Israel are from a distance of fifty miles or so. Too close. Like having a grenade fight in a closed two car garage. No winner. Now if Egypt or Iran reach over to attack Israell, then the distance is far enough to survive their own nuke attack. The entire country of Israel is the size of New Jersey.

Well, actually that may not be entirely accurate. the B61-3/4/10 is a dial-a-yield from 0.3kt to 350kt, and there are plenty of them held by the US and Nato (~1300 in current inventory). Can be loaded on any current fighter/attack aircraft in service by Nato and Israel. I'm pretty sure Israel has some or a homegrown equivalent. 0.3kt is pretty small

Our media is doing its usual thing by printing and showing pictures of the poor Palestinians holding their dead and wounded innocent women and children and blaming Israel for exercising its right to defend their life and property.
The only way to fight and win a real war is to demoralize the civilian population by inflicting massive civilian damage.
