Default XDM Disappointing Accuracy...Load Recommendations?

Shooting a .40 Springfield XDM Tactical.

Berry's 155 gn RS Copper Plated
WSP Primer
7.1 & 7.4 gns Accurate #5
Avg OAL 1.34
Factory Crimp

I used the Accurate #5 for the .40 and a .357. I got the accuracy with the .357 loads but the .40 was awful.

Would appreciate a recommendation before I purchase more powder or bullets

Thnx,
mel

Try different bullets. I find the plated bullets are either hit or miss. Barrels either love them or hate them, there is no grey area.

I agree start with a better bullet.
You may also try crimping with the seating die and skip the LFCD.
Barry's are .401 and my not like beIng sized by the crimp die

I agree with the above posts. Out of all the bullets I've used over the years Berrys are both poor performers AND over priced. Try precision Delta or Zero, same price for jacketed bullets and guarenteed better accuracy. If you must use copper plated bullets at least try Rainier, Berrys can take their OP bullets, and do you know what with em......rant off

Lol. Assumed it didn't like the powder. The Python .357 shoots great with the Berrys but mine and my sons XDM 's are off the chart - literally. Have to order bullets so I'll try another brand and re-visit this after they're loaded.

Thanks to all for curing my mono-vision!

I shoot an XD Tactical and the favorite round for accuracy is the Nosler Sporting handgun 135 grain bullet on top of 11.5 grains of Blue Dot. It is .5 grains shy of the max load in the Nosler book and my XD loves them. My friend has an XDM and it loves them as well. Its not the hardest hitting load but it shoots nice groups for us.
