Here are a few photos I took of the toys I've been able to buy since I escaped New York. I'm looking forward to getting out and shooting the Single Six for the first time tomorrow morning.

the single six didn't have to move very far from it's birth place.

Youll love the ruger. And careful with the glock .40.. They like to blow caseheads. Just dont shoot reloaded ammo in them. My lil bro bought one. Its accurate as all get out but doesnt digest reloads very well. He bought a 660 round case of reman'd ammo for it and has had about 100 casehead failures out of the case so far, I believe hes just about done with the case of ammo. Hes gonna stick with shooting CCI Blasers and Tulammo steel cased, both of whoch it shoots pretty good and neither of which rupture caseheads.

I hate glocks..

And damn good macro shots. Donny would be proud!

I'm getting the idea that people pretty much love their Single Sixes! The first time I saw one, I knew I wanted one. When I picked mine up on Tuesday, I was a bit surprised to see it felt like a real gun and not a toy. I expected it to be a lot lighter and not built as well as it is.

Thanks for the headsup, JLA. I don't reload, so that shouldn't be a problem. I typically shoot bulk Winchester ammo that I pick up at Walmart through it and carry it with Hornady TAP. I'll be sure to avoid the remanufactured ammo.

I was leaning toward a Sig P229 when I bought my gun, but the price tag changed that pretty quickly.

Thanks all for the compliments on my photography! It's a bit of a hobby that I'd like to get back into doing more of.

Nice John! out of all the other choices why again did you buy a glock? Did you even look at the Springfield XD's?

Thanks Durk! Nope.. I didn't look at the Springfield XDs. I looked at the Sig P229 and Glock 23. Price dictated I was getting the Glock.

Glock .40 has it's issues like said but I've successfully avoided all problems using mild reloads and Redding's push thru die (one glockaboom before I got the push thru die, shot reloads for 10 years thru the same gun with no problems). They feed perfect, never had a jam.

But factory ammo is much preferred for the Glock.

I'm jealous of the Ruger, very fine gun and good job on the photos to boot.

Beautiful six shooter! I've always likes the old wheel style guns kind of has that manly yet kinda' sexy look and feel (no kinky stuff here).

Like that "go ahead, make my day" feel. Plus you pull the trigger it goes bang, no jams. Nice.

Ozo's not kidding. I bought a beat up Single Six at a police auction for $75 a few years ago. Took it out to the range and it shot as well as a new gun.
Stick with factory ammo in the Glock and it'll serve you well.

Donny would be proud! __________________ It takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile, and 3 for proper trigger squeeze. The latest caliber or gear is no substitute for experience and skill. Rifles and cartridges don't make hits -- shooters do. Fact of life: After Monday and Tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!
