Yea, I like bumpers too Beth. Take a look at "Chip McCormick" mags as well. I use several different brands and prefer stainless over blue. As far as the Metalform, they make alot of OEM mags and as the guy's say, work pretty well! CDNN has sells on them and other mags every weekend.

I took out the Spartan this afternoon, ran a boresnake thru the barrel and fired another 250 rounds. It's still running smooth with no malfunctions.

The more I shoot the Spartan the more impressed I am.

I still haven't cleaned this pistol since the day I got it but it is still doing it's job. Maybe after another 1000 rounds I'll take it apart for an inspection.

I like the STI Spartan.

Good to hear Shooter!
I wish I could find one at a local gun shop just to be able
to have it in my hands and get a feel and have a good look!
Havent found one yet anywhere to have a look at around here.

I took the Spartan to the range a couple of days ago. Once again, I ran the BoreSnake thru the barrel. The SBGO is still visible on the slide rails. After shooting, the round count is 6,025 and I have still not cleaned and oiled the pistol since the day it arrived. I'm amazed !! The SBGO is still where I put it and I have had ZERO malfunctions. The groups are starting to spread but I'm not sure it's the pistol. I took a serious fall five weeks ago and messed up my left shoulder. It could possibly be my fault about the group spread. I'll shoot more next week and will be able to tell. I may have to clean the barrel....or maybe not.

I can't say enough good about the Spartan 1911.

I've been home all week and giving the Spartan a serious workout. The round count was at 8025 when I noticed I didn't see the oil at the rear of the slide anymore. Has the Spartan finally ran out of SBGO ??
The accuracy is still there and still no malfunctions of any kind. I think I'll strip the gun down and give it a good cleaning today.

Keep in mind, I got the STI Spartan in Jan, 2011. Stripped and cleaned then oiled with SBGO then proceded to shoot 8025 rounds with only an occassional swipe of a BoreSnake thru the barrel.

I can't wait to see what this one looks like.

You ain't going to drool on mine!

My STI Spartan V 9MM is more fun to shoot than the law allows, but that doesn't stop me. It has been 100% reliable and 100% pure 1911 magic.

Well I didn't clean the Spartan.

It had the 1st malfunction at almost 9000 rounds. FTE.

I inspected the pistol and the SBGO I put on it the day I got it was gone......finally. Almost 9000 rounds without cleaning !!!!

I guess I'll have to tear the Spartan down for cleaning.

I did notice that the brass was falling at my feet so I knew it wouldn't be long before it malfunctioned.

I can't say enough good about the STI Spartan and the Silver Bullet Gun Oil.

Anyone want to try that test on your new 1911 and another brand oil ??

No. Not because I dont want to. Its because I cant. I clean my guns after every outing and would not be able to sleep a wink knowing that nasty thing was laying around....

Finding 9000 rounds of 9mm would be a challenge.

It wasn't almost two years ago when I bought the pistol.

Still have had no luck finding a Spartan 3 in 9mm. You've sold me on STI's.
