Default another hunting trip done

Damn Doe's got me again. I saw 6 doe's, 1 button buck ( not legal here) and 1 hog on the run, and an empty cooler. Note to self when borrowing someone else's gun make sure you have the safety figured out. I didn't realize that the safety on the Ruger rifle I was using has 3 positions. when I jumped that hog, I flipped the safety, put him in the crosshairs and pulled the trigger. well I didn't flip the safety up enough and nothing happened by the time I got back on him he was in the thick woods and I missed
Lesson learned (the hard way)

Ouch, that sucks. I've made similar mistakes that cost me a shot. Better luck next time.

Were you sitting in a blind? I never have the safety on if I am sitting just more movement and sound if I see something.

I was done hunting, just walking out of the woods when I jumped him.

Next time use your own rifle and that kind of mishap won't occur.
