| Edit | Del All ak-47 drum recommendations???
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hey all.....i just sold a pistol of mine and decided that part of the money should be put towards a drum.....what else would i do? save it? mutual fund? yea right!.....so my question is.....which drum is the best quality for the money? I have seen chinesse 75 round drums....and other 100 round drums that aren't always labeled as to who produced them. Are they worth the money? reliable?....keep in mind they will be used for 99% fun.....1% "just in case" =-)

thanks for the advice!

I don't recommend a drum to anyone for
several reasons. First of all you CANNOT fire 100 rounds rapidly in an
AK without the firearm overheating and locking up. If you don't believe me
then take 3 30 round AK mags and fire them as fast as you can. The firearm will
lock up most times before you hit 90 rounds. Second of all the
cost is too high. I have 30 and 40 round mags that will outperform
any drum if it ever became necessary. Save your money and have fun
with your AK!! Try bump shooting. It is a hoot!!

southernfreedom, you are wise my son.

A few 30 round magazine is all you need to make your point...unless you want to be buying AK barrels quite often.

southernfreedom is right about the bump shooting. I practiced until I could do it with my A-5. You should see the guys at the clay range when I empty 5 shots in about a blink. Really makes the Benelli (worlds fastest semi-auto shotgun ha ha) guys turn green.

Back to the AK-47 drum, Have you tried a snare drum or a bass drum?

AH! I was havin some fun. Southernfreedom is absolutly correct, An AK-47, when using the bump Tech. will over heat and lock up. The weapon must have a cool down period then it will again function fine, till you run somewhere between 60 to 90 rounds thorugh it use this method of shooting. You can empty a 30 round mag in approximately 2.5 seconds
