Default SoMo's Brownies

Ok, so this isn't a game recipe ... but hey, you need dessert too, right? This is one of the few things I make from scratch ... ok, it's probably the only thing I make from scratch ... but everyone seems to love them. They're very chocolatey, not sugary or cakey like so many box mix brownies.

SoMo's Brownies

4 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
2 sticks (1 c) butter
2 c sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1¼ c all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt

Melt together chocolate and butter. Stir in sugar. Stir in eggs. Add vanilla. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together, then stir into chocolate mixture. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 baking pan, and bake at 350° for 30 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool, then cut into squares.

These are also good served warm with ice cream on top!

WHAT!!! No pecans added???
I think you have to send me a large box of those for testing, just to see if they're good enough "not" to have pecans in 'em.

Oops!! I meant to put as options either stirring chopped pecans into the batter, or putting pecan halves on top. Glad you pointed that out, Trap!

Send me your address and I'll mail you a box!
