Now the government can tell you which meats to eat. Islam, Judaism and even Catholicism have dictated what meats were acceptable, but they are religions, and religious participation in the U.S. is supposed to be by choice.
In Ohio, the Thompson Township Police Department is investigating what Humane Society Officer Sarah Westman said was “the illegal killing of companion animals" raised for domestic purposes.

Domestic purposes.

That means farm use. But it appears that the only animals you are allowed to farm for meat, as defined in the Ohio Code are: cattle, poultry or fowl, swine, sheep, or goats. Period. Better not get caught having frog legs, farming trout or suckin' those succulent crayfish heads. Might get arrested. By the Humane Society and/or the Poooo-lice.

Hmmmm. How does a "Society" get arrest authority? Too much government.

The moral majority cops got called in when a 16-year-old student skinned and cooked a rabbit and a cuy (AKA Guinea pig) during a living skills class.

Turns out this is illegal because the cops decided these are "companion animals." Seeing-eye dogs are companion animals. I've had some girlfriends that were companion animals. Rabbits are cute, but they are graded for cooking by the USDA and classified as poultry. Hello, Ohio!

And Cuy (also known as Cavy and Guinea pig) is eaten in more countries (including the U.S.) than the U.S. has states. South of the border it is sold only in the more expensive restaurants (and it's gooood!). Hello Ohio!

So in Iraq, you can't eat a ham. You can have horse, donkey or camel if the killing is done in accordance with Islamic law. Bet you can't do that in Ohio. And we are going to make them free. Sure.

Now that the kops are in your kitchen, you better be thinkin' about that deadbolt for the bedroom. I'm glad I'm not religious. Me and the red, horny guy down below would be having a loooooong talk about the all the alligator tail, raw abalone, grasshoppers, armadillos, emus and the occasional 'possum that strayed onto my plate.

Crayfish are now a companion animal? I guess if you are a Humane Society bedwetter, you take what companionship you can get.
