I am wanting to put a 44mm scope on a RRA 24" varmint upper it is NOT an EOP. Can I go with medium rings or do I have to go with large? The scope is a BSA 8-32x44.
Thanks Ray

I would say high rings; Ron Witherspoon, at; www.AuroraTactical.com can tell you for sure. He sells a lot of A.R.M.S. stuff, which, imho, is as good as it gets. I called him for rings for a Springfield armory scope, on a FAL rifle, and he sent the rings; arrived in three days. I worried all the way to the range, as the clearance was minute, but the rifle shot very well.
Back at the ranch, the clearance amounts to about .028, at the bell of the scope, but, really, that's about .026 more than I needed! The A.R.M.S. stuff isn't cheap, but worth the price! I trade an AN/PVS 4, and the Springfield Scope, on the same rifle, in less than 10 seconds, and never have to click, except for range, or wind! The rings are as repeatable as the sunrise. Call, or e-mail Ron, and he'll steer you right.
