Marlin model 97 - The Firearms Forum

I have an old .22 that was my grandpa's and my dads that I have used for years until I realized that it might be worth something, so i bought a new .22 for hunting. My old .22 is a Marlin Model 97, it is lever action and has a hex barrel. I did a serial number check on a Marlin website and it comes out to be a 1906 model. Thanks

I'm sorry, I left off it is probably in very good condition.

YO JC< this is a VERY desirable Marlin, prally the MOST!!
made18 97-1922 prices range from$375-$2500 (Blue Book) came with either strate or pistol grip stock. Blued with case colored receiver. if U R luckey an have a 16" barrel add 100%!!otherwise 24,26,28 inch.add 15-20% for takedown model.
Everything depends on CONDITION. These are very nice 22's. I sold mine about 5-6 years ago in 90-95% wood and metal for $1700!! Run of the mill brings $500+ around here-Joisey-East PA. Special features such as correct tang sites drive the price up.

I believe it would be the 24-28 inch length, its blued and has the correct sights. My grandpa didn't hunt much or my dad, it might have gotten out of the closet a couple times every few years. I'm glad I quit carrying it to the woods.
