Default old guns for old shooters.

I fought this picture until my eyes crossed. Back to the photo program.

Default Hmm:

That top one looks like the Winchester Model 1904 my father-in-law gave to my grandsons. I took them to the range yesterday and they liked shooting it better than the Marlin M-25 we had with us. The one we have, has a schnable foreend tip.

The second one could be the Winchester M-99 with "thumb trigger". (?)

Got me on the third one.

Joe

The top one is a 1902 Winchester 22 short, long or extra long.
Not long rifle, extra long. Extra longs are longer than long rifles. I have never seen any extra long shells, they are very collectible. Not much difference between it and the 1904 except some 1904s had a steel butt plate and the schnable tip.

The middle one is a Winchester thumbtrigger, basically a 1902 with a thumb release on top just below the cocking knob.

The bottom one is a 1906 Winchester expert. The only difference in this and a standard 1906 is the lower tang is bent and fitted with a pistol grip stock, and a different styled pump. If you see any of these at garage sales, GRAB EM!!!
