Things may change soon though, there's been talk of another amnesty and reversing/ammending/repealing not only the NFA laws but also standard unreasonable regulations and if the announcement I saw tonight by the Bush Admin & Ashcroft is any indication of what may be in the forefront then things look a lot more promising than they have in many moons, and it looks like they are sticking to their guns, but who knows, I wouldn't get my hopes up until I saw it actually happen!
