Default Crock Pot Eggs

I need to furnish 10 dozed scramplbe eggs for breakfast next Tuesday at 05:00. I know how to do the eggs, I knkow I can put them in the crock pot to keep warm (and turn to leather) but I was wondering if I could cook them in the crock pot.

Times and whether start high then turn to low or...?

Thanks

Pops

I did the 5 dozen eggs in the crock pots. Someone else offered to do eggs, also. They were very well received by the crew.

I will say that 12 hours on low was too long in one crock pot and just about right in the other.

For each crock pot:
2 1/2 dozen eggs
2 bunches chives (small green onions) chopped
1 1/5 pounds GOOD bacon, chopped & fried
16 ounces sour cream
2 tablespoons lemon pepper (get the real lemon pepper, not the salt with lemon zest and pepper)

Chop and fry the bacon; set aside
Chop the chives/onions, discarding the wilted ends of the greens (about the last inch)
Whip the eggs in a LARGE bowl and add the sour cream
Stir in the chives, bacon pieces and lemon pepper
Pour into the crock pot and set to low
At about 6 hours in, stir

Get up in the morning and pack the pots in towels and head to work.
Stir the eggs, breaking the crust to make them servable (is that a word?)

Oh god, that sounds good.

Soo glad you used the crockpots!

Definately have to remember this one in the future, we did pancakes/sausage/hashbrowns and coffee for just under 100 folks Sun morning, but I cant wait to replace that with your recipie here.

Glad it turned out!

Remember, the eggs will grow as they cook. Don't fill the pot over 1/2 to begin with and you'll be alright.

I would do a small amount first, to see how your corckpot cooks. The recipe I got the idea from calls for a dozen and 12-14 hours. I did 2 1/2 dozen and should have given the big pot less time. Those were just a little dry, but nobody complained.

Sound advice, I'll remember that...

Yeah well, after all that work they may be swallowing teeth instead of breakfast if they did.
