ok, i want a new folder to go with my Surefire E2D Executive Defender, keep in mind i wanna spend LESS than $150, ok?
Reason i am postin this here is cuz i have been to a bunch of gun shops and gun/knife shows and liked alot of styles but i haven't found one with everything i like on one yet...

lets start off with what i DO like...(meaning this blade must have...)
Liner lock
Flip tang (like on CRKT M-16 style knives..http://www.gpknives.com/item/columbi...on-m16-13.html
CRKT Columbia River Carson M16-13 )
Overall Length of 8inches or less (no smaller than 6inches)
Reversable pocket clip... (i actually like to carry mine all in the tip down position..just got used to it is all.)

Blade MUST be atleast AUS-8 or better.
I like the looks of a Tanto blade so this may be the chance to test one out... although i had one years ago and just couldn't get used to it...
I don't mind Spear, or Clip, or Drop point blades..All work well with me. (but keep in mind I want to try the Tanto out again.)
Style of grips I like are..(Preferred!~>) Zytel!!, Aluminum, Titanium...

What i do NOT like:
Any safties... (i.e. CRKTs LAWKS system...Cold Steels Ultralock.. or the thing on SOGs)
Don't like the 'bolt action' type locks (SOGs)
Serrations
No Automatics/assited openers! (hate em'...poor fingers

)
Style of grips I don't like are... wood, and rubber..and that dang texture thats on my Kershaw that i got from walley-world.. tis the Scallion... HATE THAT TOO!

My first choice is cold steel. Next is benchmade, then spyderco.

I checked over alot of thier stuff, my dad used Spyderco for years, and has since become a Kershaw guy, I've never dealt/handeled a Cold Steel they look nice but i jost can't seem to get used to ANY type of lock other than frame/liner locks styles... Benchmade has some sweet stuff, played around with one up in Memphis a few weekends ago...

BUT.. I've been thinking of these two blades... please if anyone has ANY input on these please share with me...

I carry a Cold Steel folder every day. They are excellent and come SCARY sharp. They also hold an edge much better than my Kershaw.

I like the M-16 you showed.
BTW I carry a Smith & Wesson straight blade on one side fully serrated on a seperate blade I carry it to work and even clip it on when I get all dresses up

Personally, I carry Cold Steel medium Tanto folder (Gunsight model) Have the large and small version too. I pay for the blade sharpness and retention (never found any knife out of the box sharper or the ability to hold that edge better) and lock strength. These are the only qualities SAVE tip strength AND NONE surpass Cold Steel`s tips.........NONE!!

If picky and wish to pay 3x for others, this may fit the bill, look around--several models and sizes of this one.

Recently found a 'Cold Steel' Caledonian Edge, on E-bay, for less than half retail, though slightly more than your budget number, which I suspect is more flexible than you state.
The knife is as close to a 'custom' as can come out of a factory; a lot of Titanium, etc, in it's construction, and a San Mai blade! It is the folding equivalent of the fixed blade knife I wanted, thirty some years ago, teaching 'Silent Diplomacy', to kids at Ft Bragg, on the Hill.
It,s big, for a folder, sharp, and stays so, and designed for nothing but function as a weapon!
My one critical observation is that the 'liner lock' is a bit sticky; this is a small fault, in the face of all the other virtues.
Give it a look!
