Default computer question...

Weither i am on the internet or just looking at my files i seem to be unable to take the pointer to the bottom and get the bottom toolbar, the one with the big green "Start" button on the left side, to come up. I have to minimize all windows and get back to the desktop background before i can wave the pointer at the bottom and get the toolbar to pop up.

Is there a setting somewhere to get it to come up while i have windows up on the screen....?

The computer in question has Windows xp home edition. I've never run into this on xp pro editon.

Suggestions anyone?
Thanks.

Make sure you do not have the task bar set to auto hide.

When the task bar is up, right click and choose properties. On the taskbar tab, if "Auto-hide the taskbar" is selected, uncheck it and hit apply or ok.

Also make sure that "keep the taskbar on top of other windows" is selected as well.

Should do the setting for keeping the tool bar on top of other windows. Mine is set for auto hide but I can still bring it up when I move the pointer down to the bottom of the page with different windows open.

Things like that shouldn't just happen if you haven't turned that function on. Sometimes these computers get dazed & confused and a simple restart will fix some of these problems.
(sometimes).
