if its a genuine russian dont do anything that cant be put back originally.the sks is perfect stock just like it came out of the factory.DONT BUBBA IT!!!!

those aftermarket duckbill mags suck!!! some people have had good luck with the usa made ones. you can tweek them to work but i would just use the stripper clips.

They usually have to file some on the feed lips to make the magazine feed reliably

The feed lips are the metal pieces of the magazine that curve around and hold the bullet. Soemtime you have to take a file and file off minute amounts of the metal on the to make them push the shells into the gun correctly.
They really aren't bad magazines it's just that a dozen countrys have made a dozen different SKS's and it is one of the most mass produced gun across the world so they really can't make one 30 rounder that will magically fit all of them witout modifications.

Any of the metal 30 rounders can be modified to work with the rifle. If you buy a plastic one their isn't much you can do if it don't work right
