Saw a Kokura Type 38 carbine today that was VERY interesting.

Complete, with mum and dustcover, matching Kokura bayonet with scabbard and dried but complete frog. Had an old US "hasty" sling on it.

Had an old brittle note folded up in the loops of the frog from the soldier that captured it on Leyte in '45.

"This carbine was recovered by _______, U.S.A., from a bunker which had been bombarded for over 24 hours by the USS Missouri, 1945."

Now, I know the dates don't quite match up, but it was at a table of an old guy that I know is legit, been at that setup for ever since I started going to Friendship in 1989.

Wanted $225 for it, if I had that much on me, I would've scarfed it up...
