I would like it quite a bit if someone voting in a poll--but not adding anything to a conversation--would not bring that thread back up to the top. I know this is far from the easiest suggestion ever, and it is certainly not vital, but every now and then I get excited to read about something only to realize I've read that whole thread (sometimes even more than once).

Bugs me too, Josh. Unfortunately, that's the way our software is designed. Maybe they'll change it in a future update.
