Default how to get a good picture of guns or parts.

I was trying like heck to get a good picture of my hand gun and other parts to email to a buddy.. Camera wasn't getting close enough.. So I put it on my flatbed scanner and opened my software, MS OFFICE and picked insert imagine.. that opened my scanner software and I scanned first one side, then the other and it put them in the document.. in color... Cool... Just an idea for ya.. oh, then I emailed that rather large document to my buddy.. but guess you could also save it and put it on line somewhere if you wanted to.
