I have a 1903 Springfield, serial # 105481, the barrel is stamped SA, 3-42, 30-06 and calst air. Other than the SA and barrel date, any ideas on the meaning of the other markings? And it has a straight bolt arm.
Thanks

Is it still in military dress?
Many 03's were rebuilt by arsenals during the Second War with newly manufactured barrels and other components. It's not at all uncommon to see a very early 03 like yours with a later parts. The SA 3-42 denotes that the barrel was produces by Springfield Armory in March of 1942.
