Well, i went to the gun show today. There was a long line at the backside entrance to get in...about 40 minutes or so. I struck up a conversation with the guy in front of me. It turned out he was one of the 40% from Oklahoma.... a democrat.
I got an earfull about how obama would not take guns and how corporations were evil. It was a long 40 minutes because he would not shut up... I tried to counter a few of his claims about business but i mostly let him ramble on...and on...and on... ![]() Anyway, i finally got in. $10 to get in...ooofda. Gun shows used to be free or at most $5 to get in. Oh well. It was a typical gun show.... most tables had older than dirt junk. There was some good stuff too. Quite a few tables had large rifle displays. There were ALOT of antique gun tables with some really old old firearms. I was looking at one and there was a guy who brought an old pistol in to the show for trade and the gun dealer offered him $1800 for whatever it was that he wanted to trade on a $4000 gun.... i don't know what it was but thats big money for an antique? There were plenty of tables with used beat up AR15s. There were a few tables selling brand new AR15s but they had allready sold out the AR10s before i got there after lunch time. There were tons of knife tables. One guy was selling bulk ammo but i got there too late...he was mostly sold out. He had 12ga 00 buck 2 3/4 shells in 250 count boxes for $130 something... but i would rather have the 3" mag 00 buck so i passed that one by. I did run into a guy selling those metal targets that you shoot over. He had a design that you shoot 4 hanging targets and they flip over and then you shoot the 5th one sticking up and that lever resets the main 4 over again. Pretty neat, but only designed for 22 rimfire though. The guy designs and builds them himself and will build custom targets AND he is from springdale arkansas! Not to far to go and pick up a custom target setup. I think i will hire him to build one to my specs. Nice Guy. There were also a few T-shirt tables. I bought one of those Gadsden(sp)? Don't tread on me shirts.... gold on black. I also bought a cheapie paper target holder from a different target table. They had these cheapie $5 metal rod, push in the ground paper target thingies. It'll probably be a little better than a box with a rock in it...maybe? So basicly i met a few local dealers who that i didn't know about, one from Broken Arrow... i met a custom metal target maker... i got a nice t shirt, a cheap target holder... and had a fairly ok time. The funny thing is that i like new or newer stuff and in that respect one of the best tables in the place was a gun shop just up the road from where i live. They had more stuff at the gun show then what they have on display at their gunshop.... GO FIGURE?? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One thing that i didn't see alot of was new 22 rimfire pistols. They had quite a few tables with supposedly rare Ruger 22 rimfires... for obscene prices $600 to $900 I don't care about old and rare 22 pistols...rifles maybe...but not 22 plinking pistols. It was quite a day and quite a surprise that my feet held up ok. I walked at least a mile to the building...and i'm sure i walked at least 2 miles inside while i was there if not 3 miles. And then a mile back to the car. And my feet took ever bit of it! What a surprise considering that mowing the lawn a few months ago took a day to recover from. Go figure. Oh, one other thing. I was walking back to the car and there was this jerkweed walking ahead of me that was wearing those droopy drawer pants that the kids wear these days.... the dummy got to his truck, opened the door and he stood there and took a p*ss right there on the street!!!! ![]() I turned arround and said to the guy walking behind me "did you see that sh*t? He has no class whatsoever..." He responded by saying Yessss, i see that Idiot... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I mean...ya know i've gone behind a few dumpsters behind the bar "at night" in my time but to do that in broad daylight.... JEEEZ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() mike gn

I think that Dem that was in front of you in line should read your Sig. I guess he must have been there to try and pick up a turd by the clean end. Or maybe, he was the turd.

![]() ![]() ![]() Well basicly...typical gun show prices. "allmost new prices" ![]() $600 to $700 for the used and not so good looking ones. They had new ones in the $800 to $900 range which i guess is on par because i was rummaging thru some of my gun stuff the other day and i found the original price tag for the lightweight sporter that i have and it was $850 and that was a few years ago. I seen a brand there that i haven't seen before...DPMS or something like that. They were pretty good looking rifles. They had a very very nice finish on them. The black matt finishes were very uniform unlike the colt i have. There were a couple of tables that were only selling uppers for AR15s. They had uppers going from $350 all the way up to $800 for long bull barreled ones. Mostly in 223. I saw several tables that were selling new AR's that had lowers with the 223 stamped on it but had aftermarket 6.8 and 6.5...i assume millimeter uppers ,and i can't remember the name of the round but it started with "S" but i don't remember? They were asking over a grand for those which i think is high? In my opinion anyway. Hey, an AR10 in 308 goes for $1500.... so why should they be getting $1200 and $1300 for a dealer modified hodgepod of a 223 and a 6.8mm upper? Even though both upper and lower are new...thats still too much! One table had two milled receiver AK47s that were new in the box from years ago that have never been fired.... $2500 each. I about had a heart attack!!! I would say the AR prices might be on par or in some cases a little high but the AK prices were pretty high. I noticed several AK47 price tags on fairly well worn AKs that ran $500 or $600 price tags. The same thing a year ago would have been $300 or $350... The AKs are running high i think. mike gn

I haven't been to Wannamaker show in a couple years. A buddy that lives in Tulsa comes up with free tickets to alot of gun shows and when we went to the big gun show, we'd show up early say 7:30 am and still had to park in north 40.
