Default Winchester 94 Tang Safety

Has anyone seen one of these? I was told its new this year and replaces the cross-bolt safety. I been thinking about a 94 Legacy in 44 mag. but I think the cross-bolt safety is ugly as I am....ok maybe not that bad...but I dont like the looks of it.

No I have not seen one of these but I agree with you that the crossbolt saftey is hidious. I am still trying to figure out why a gun with a hammer needs a saftey. As far as I am concerned they ruined the looks and lines of a beautiful classic rifle by putting those danged safteys on them.

Well, hang on. You got the correct info. Winchester is replacing the cross bolt safety with the tang safety. I'm not sure if they are going to put them on all new models, but I sure hope so.
Good shooting, John K
