Default Looks like the first day is a wash out....

here in my neck of the woods for deer season. It has been pouring down the rain since early this morning. I don't hunt anymore, the fun of it has long passed for me, but I do sympathise with those that do. After all gun season for deer in West Virginia is almost a religous rite for most of us mountaineers.

I like hunting them in the rain. You can sneak up to baseball bat range. Had a guy from West Virginia in my squad one time. He was a rifleman's rifleman. You know any Yosts out that way you let me know. I've lost track of him.

It rained on me here in Indiana opening morning stayed with it until i got to wet, then started to get cold and had to pack it in. I like to hunt when it is just misting or drizzling rain i believe that game really move around when it is doing that.

Have not yet got my deer have two days left in the gun season, I have to admit i have slowed down in my older years, just don't seem to be able to get out there and fight that cold like i use to when i was young.

Well I still have two days of either sex season. I still hope that some somewhat stupid five by five will step out in front of me and say its my turn shoot me. Right now I may resort to that nice four by four that I have passed on twice. catfish
