Exclamation Serial coded ammo laws in the works.

This is my first post, but it is an important one. I urge all of you who read this to spread word to all other enthusiasts to research the subject of Ammunition Accountability being proposed by other states. I am law abiding and don't have a worry about my ammo serial coded if I fire it, but I have a problem with having to destroy my existing ammo and the sure-to-follow legislation picking our interests apart. The law enforcement benefits are obviously immeasurable but what about when your taxed, serial numbered ammo is stolen? Police reports and paperwork, and hassle. No more trading or loaning ammo to your friends or neighbors without somehow opening yourself up to some small vulnerability. How many unsavory characters are going to destroy their uncoded ammo that will obviously be in their best interest to keep close to their cold hearts. We will self-inhibit and empower them simultaneously. I realize I am sounding very panicky but it is a thought provoking matter. Eventually the dumbest bad guys will get rounded up but the years between will be tough.

Hey, this is something we need to act on folks.

Check here to see if they are already working on YOUR state:

Yes, but what the general CSI watching public and legislator liberals don't understand is their own legal system! This isn't about crime, it's about cumbersome acts in order to make it so difficult that companies, gun owners, etc... just give up. Don't give in.

If the public understood their own system:

You are innocent before being proven guilty by a jury of your peers. In that, there is due process. It doesn't matter about any of the micro stamping, micro chipping, blah blah blah blah blah....It doesn't matter for nuthin'.

When it all comes down to trial, that bullet that killed or harmed, has to be put into that gun, which has to be put into that person's hand, which has to be proven that the act was illegal.

I'm so sick of this sh....crap. The same standard would hold if the weapon was a #2 Ticonderoga Pencil (except by the liberals and media).

Edit: ws6, Actually from a law enforcement standpoint, there is little to no benefit from such. How many here have ever left the range and knew that they dropped a round that they couldn't find.... a .22. If that was a coded round that was found/picked up by someone else later and used in a crime....how can that assist law enforcement? It goes back to what I was saying earlier.

I see the outfit behind this is as good at web site design as they are at other rational thought.
There are two links that are supposed to show the progress of these bills in TN.
Neither of them work.

Just watch, the next step will be some sort of legislation limiting ammunition purchases and somehow being forced to document when it is expended before you can buy more. I know they hate the idea of people stockpiling.

Step by step and inch by inch they will slowly nibble away at the second amendment until the stinking bastards have our guns. They wont rest until they achieve their goal. It all kind of makes you wonder what they have in mind for the country once we are disarmed.

I tried to contact this outfit, and the e-mail just bounced as being invalid.

Let's see -
Introduced in IL five days ago -
Another state I checked had been introduced in 2007 and gone no where.
Tennessee has no record of either bill -
And their e-mail is invalid.

I'm going with - defunct (or just completely incompetent) group.

Has anyone actually TESTED anything like this?
I am thinking of the base of a .22 bullet, solid lead, with a number engraved in it that is sufficiently long to identify who bought it - that would take at least ten digits, the same as a telephone number.
And this is going to be legible after it has splattered on a bone?

See, that's a smart question. But now how many people in gov't have anythign near the reasoniong power to think something like that through? They spend all their time and energy trying to remake this country into the American Socialist Democratic Republic of Obama.

I went to Wal-Mart the other day and they were completely out of handgun ammo and they said it was going to be that way indefinitely or "until [they] get some more in". Something tells me this has something to do with it.

I bought some 9mm at Wal-Mart today. They had about a dozen boxes and the salesperson told me that they had ran out of 9mm last night. I"m thinking Wal-Mart is going to go all PC with the new adminstration and just stop selling firearms/ammo.

That sucks too because Wal-Mart was the cheapest place to buy decent 9mm in my area... I ... I ... No, if I say something it will be a cheap shot....

You guys still think you can stop this, and other, infringements by writing, or e-mailing your politicians ? I sure wish some of your optimism would rub off on me !
