Entire text below with emphasis by me. Guys, Rush is right on this one. If the GOP caves, which is likely considering the majority are spineless wimps or RINOS, we must apply pressure to make sure they do what we desire. Few of our Conservative elected officials are going to want to stand against Hussein, but we must bombard them with correspondence advising them to stand for the ideals WE ELECTED THEM TO DEFEND ![]() ![]() I am going to hound my representatives in House and Senate to stand against the tide of Socialism about to drown us. ![]() Your thoughts are appreciated. Rush Limbaugh may command a large following, but his caustic comments Monday about the GOP’s congressional leadership have at least one Republican House member defending his colleagues and offering an unusually candid critique of the talk radio powerhouse and his fellow commentators. Responding to President Obama’s recommendation to Republican congressional leaders last week that they not follow Limbaugh’s lead, the conservative talkmeister said on his show that Obama is “obviously more frightened of me than he is Mitch McConnell. He's more frightened of me, than he is of, say, John Boehner, which doesn't say much about our party." Rep. Phil Gingrey, R-Ga., did not take kindly to this assessment in an interview with Politico Tuesday. “I think that our leadership, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, are taking the right approach,” Gingrey said. “I mean, it’s easy if you’re Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh or even sometimes Newt Gingrich to stand back and throw bricks. You don’t have to try to do what’s best for your people and your party. You know you’re just on these talk shows and you’re living well and plus you stir up a bit of controversy and gin the base and that sort of that thing. But when it comes to true leadership, not that these people couldn’t be or wouldn’t be good leaders, they’re not in that position of John Boehner or Mitch McConnell." Asked to respond to Gingrey, Limbaugh, in an email to Politico, wrote: “I'm sure he is doing his best but it does not appear to be good enough. He may not have noticed that the number of Republican colleagues he has in the House has dwindled. And they will dwindle more if he and his friends don't show more leadership and effectiveness in battling the most left-wing agenda in modern history. And they won't continue to lose because of me, but because of their relationship with the grassroots, which is hurting. Conservatives want leadership from those who claim to represent them. And we'll know it when we see it.” The back and forth comes as some on the right speak more openly about what they perceive as the lack of leadership in the Republican Party. Unapologetic conservatives, like Limbaugh would prefer to see elected Republicans confront the new president. But many GOP officials, daunted by the new president’s approval rating and what they believe is fatigue on the part of voters over partisan fighting, are loath to openly criticize Obama.

Oh, so now the Republicans in Congress are starting to blindly follow Obama? Spineless scumbags. This just goes to show you that ALL gov't "leaders" are pompus, puscillanimous, and pathetic (bonus points if you know where I got that last part
). Pretty soon they'll all be saying "Heil Obama!" everytime he walks by. Maybe if the Republicans would have listened to Rush or Sean they wouldn't be speaking as representatives of the minority party. Washington is in serious need of a flush and we can start with the RINO Republicans.

I seriously don't belive that Rush will back off. This will only fire him up more and get him a larger audience!
This whole thing is going to backfire and kick everyone in the butt! And Rush will come out on top! He HAS to! He and Sean are fighting for our rights because nobody else seems to be stepping up to the plate! If they cave, we're in deep chit. The Freedom of Speech is garbage too. These reps are supposed to work for US but they are blatently following a socialist god who isn't even legal to be POTUS to begin with! I need a drink....or two....sigh.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I can't wait to hear what Rush says today! Should be an interesting show!

Why should Rush listen to the GOP, when the GOP won't listen to it's own members. I had been a party member since I could vote, over 30 years.
I tore up my party card because of the lack of back bone these bozos possess. ![]() Art

When is the GOP going to quit shooting from the lip?
I'm like you Art, I've been a GOP member for over 30 years. I was meaning to go 'no party affiliation' after this last go round, but thought I'd try and give them the benefit of the doubt. As they continue, I'm secure in my thoughts of dropping all party affiliations. Afer all, there are only two parties now anyway, "left" and "Right." |

I didn't leave the Democratic Party. They left me.
I'm not leaving the Republican Party, but they are rapidly leaving me. I hope the Republican "leaders" enjoy the odor of where they have their heads. Pops |

Nighthawk, you are correct. As the left goes farther left, what happens to the center? It moves farther left too. Simple math.
So when someone says they're in the middle or "moderate," they are actually farther and farther to left. "Moderate Conservative" is an oxymoron. ![]() |

I'm hearing the stimulus might only get 1 or 2 Republican votes. Zero would be ideal, so that when the billions of additional spending don't fix the economy, Republicans don't get any blame. At least the news stories I hear are right on the money....Republican opposition to the stimulus is based on too much spending and not enough tax relief. Amen !! I'll give credit when and where it's due. If Republicans get back to conservative values they'll get unwavering support from me again, but there has to be a contrast between them and the lefty radical dumocrats !

Never was a republican, used to think i was an Independant, Now i know that i am a conservative.
Heard this once........When you are 21 and have a heart you can be liberal. when you are 31 and have a brain you have to be conservative! The pity is that our children and their children will be paying for this mistake in judgement. If things go the way this administration wants there wont be opportunity in this country like our fathers saw it for a long long time!

For any person with the slightest knowledge of economics or world history, compromise with that person would require a double lobotomy and a couple of fifths of cheap whiskey.

I have voted GOP since 1966. It seems they have moved to the "left" to be more in the center. When "Slick Willie" was in power, the mid-term elections (1994) gave us the House and Senate. That was because gun owners spoke up . Now is the time and now is the hour. They, the GOP, can't play nice with this guy. Fifty-nine million Americans did NOT vote for Barry. He wasn't given a mandate to foist his liberal agenda upon us. If our GOP reps CAN'T OR WON'T back us up, we must find ones who will. You can fool some of the people some of the time, and you can fool some people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. TJ

I still vote a republican ticket but can no longer give them financial support. I refuse to feed a dog that will bite me in the a$$ when my back is turned.

The basic truth to all of this is President Obama did notice the effectiveness of Rush and others on the Right Wing by proposing a re-instatement of the "Fairness Doctrine", as well as other measures to create government-mandated regs to give "minority bloc's" station control.......Even if they aren't fiscallly viable, of course..... >MW
