A bud brought his Ruger Single six .22 Mag. over saying that it won't eject. I took a look at it and the ejector rod doesn't match up with the cylinder when you attempt to eject a spent a case. You have to cock the hammer and rotate the cylinder just a hair for the ejector to extract throught the cylinder. Is this a timming problem?

When you open the loading gate, wont the cylinder turn without cocking the hammer?

If it is an OLD Model Single Six, you have to place the hammer in the half-cock notch, then open the loading gate and rotate the cylinder. The timing would be for the chamber in line with the barrel.
