I found an old looking .22lr with the following markings.

Name on barrell:
H. Schmidt Ostheim / Rhon
Made In Germany

Serial Number under barrell:
447xxx

Marking under cylender:
HS 1.69 (the HS was in a double circle looking thing)

On the bottom of the grip:
LA Distributors
New York City, N.Y.

It is a single action .22lr 6 shooter. I am going to try it out at the range tomorrow.

I will try to post pictures if I can get the digital camera to work.

Thanks
GlockCoyote

Good old Herbert Schmidt.

Typical 1960's German single-action .22, very inexpensive then and still cheaper now... Probably $50 in working condition.

I dont remember if that gun is the same as the RG 63 or not, but its close.

(It's truly amazing how much crap you remember... guess that's why my wife calls me a crap factory, huh...)

Dr, thanks for the info. Is there any place online to purchase extra pins, screws, etc for this revolver?
Thanks

Try www.gunpartscorp.com

Jack First or Poppert's might also be helpful, but I dont know if they are on-line or not.

Dr,
Found out today that the cylinder that came with the ".22lr" was actualy a .22mag. Do you know where I could get a .22lr cylinder for it?
Thanks

Same as above, but it will probably cost more than the gun is worth.
