Guy said it was a model 12. It has no mod # on it. Octagonal barrel, pat. dates-- Pederson pat. Jan 5 1909, other pats pend. ser # 64XXX. Is this indeed a mod.12? O, yea, The tube mag. moves with the slide as it moves back & forth. Got it as part of a trade, just want to know a little about it. Remington introduced the rifle in 1909 and it stayed in production through 1936 when it was redesigned and became the Model 121. It was offered in your configuration, with a round barrel available; also a Gallery model in .22 Short (12B), a 24" barrel version (12C), a version is .22 Remington Special (12CS), and then engraved versions from D through F. Nice rifles, and beginning to show decent collector interest. During their production the competition (Winchester) ate them alive, and still has the advantage on pricing.
