Default Beretta U22

Bought a new Beretta U22, Thursday and got a real surprise. This thing shoots great and is very accurate. Anyone else have a U22?

Also just picked one up (fathers day special at Cabelas). First impression, did not like the white back sights, my eyes are old and the white glares out the front sight. This is not uncommon with any gun I shoot. I have had a hard time locating the 5 sight front sight set. Until I do I just blacked out the back sight and put white on the front. Will take it out tomorrow for a real shake down. The rounds I did shoot went off with out a hitch. I am looking forward to see how accurate it is compared to my SW22, buckmark, and ruger single six.

I recenty bought one to save on ammo cost, I love this gun. When I started my research, I narrowed it down to the u22,ruger mark III, and the Browning buckmark. Academy had all of these between 249.00 and 299.00. I have shot all of these before except the U22. I liked the way the u22 felt so I bought it. It shoots great, I bought a cheap BSA red dot scope to put on it and it is a blast to shoot. I bought the stainless with the black grip. You can buy different grips from the beretta website, they have several different colors.

Picked one up a few months ago...fired about 500 rounds through it..no problems and verry accurate. Recommend highly.

spent more time shooting the u22. I painted the front sight white and blacked out the back sight, the way I prefer it. I think with practice this will be as accurate as my sw22 but not sure it will come up to the buckmark, not equal as the buckmark has a 7 1/4 barrel

I've had mine for several years and I like it! I clean it every 200 rounds , pour a little graphite powder on the rails and it's smooth shooting , also it likes the lower power ammo, like Fed's 500 in a box. It will shoot the higher performance stuff , but I don't like to strain my gun unnecessarily

I just painted the Front Sight White, left the rear sight as it was.

DKA
have you seen the 5 sight set available anywhere? Would really like it if truglo would make a front sight for the U22.

I bought one a while back and just could not get the rear sight adjusted far enough to make it hit where I wanted. I don't remember if it was right or left, but anyway, I did not like the pistol so I donated it to our Church's men's group and we raffled it off. From what I have read, everyone loves them, maybe I got the lemon.

If the 5 sight set becomes available it would be great to get it posted here. I keep looking but to no avail.
After another trip to the range I think I am going to remove the front sight and make it a little narrower. Seems to be way to wide and difficult to get tighter groups. At 25ft I was still only able to manage 2.5" groups. The front blade appeared so wide it was difficult to dial in an exact impact point.

The first link is for the 5 sight set for 19.00, it is still not available, the 2nd link is where you can purchase them all seperately and it is available for 6.00per site. These are still the wide front sites though.

Thanks, Deadeye1964
I went ahead and ordered just the black sight so I can modify it for my needs. They only had the black and citrus available. I will have to paint the front white when done.

well I received the new black sight in today. I took some material off the sides and installed it on the pistol after painting it green. I will be heading out this weekend to see if it has tightened up my groups with the slimmer sights.
Here are some pics of the front sight now.
modified sight(painted green) next to the original one (which I painted white)
