My new french MAS 36 rifle has a cracked chamber
![]() I had bought brass, & dies & loaded up 20 start level rounds & tried to chamber the first round. Someone was thoughtfull enough to dimple the heck out of the end of the barrel/end of the chamber to prevent a round chambering. Rifle detonation averted but now I'd like to find a barrel to fit this gun & I'm striking out. I tried SARCO & Numrich but no luck there. Anyone know of possible sources?

ask at surplusrifleforum.com under the "Looking for" section at the bottom. Someone there may be able to help.

there is a sporterized MAS 36 on there now for 100 bucks. none of the numbers match so your not hurting anything by removing the barrel. he says the bore is dark but the groves and lands are still strong. This is how most of them are now.
