Default new member with a series 80?

Hello all. Great forum. I have searched for this info, but no dice. My question.....Colt series 80 MKIV is the handgun that I have. Is there a tactical light that will fit this frame since it lacks the usual rail system found on newer guns?

I saw a Series 80 with a light rail mounted to the frame but don't know if the rail was bought or fabricated by someone. Check with Brownells.

Yes. There is a rail for your Colt.

Ask about a "Tick Rail". Costs maybe $60 or so. It mounts by being secured by the slide stop. Was invented by LTG Jack Woodmansee (Ret.). Will mount anything with a rail grabber.

No problem. Welcome and don't be a stranger.

I'd advise calling them and getting more info. You'll have to use their slide stop, etc. Mount is polymer, fit is universal, but ask if it is good to go on an 80 Series just in case. Good luck.
