Coast To Coast Mossberg 479 30-30 - The Firearms Forum

Anyone know anything about a 30-30 rifle, looks like a Mossberg model 479, 30-30, with the Coast to Coast brand? Coast to Coast was a hardware chain. Mossberg is not any help.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, chances are it is a duck.

Coast to coast sold the Mossberg 479 under the Store Brand Model number of 779. Store brands are valued at 10 to 20 per-cent less than if the gun had the parent name on it.To get the retail price down for the store brand , less finishing was used and the stock is normally Birch instead of walnut. Any checkering was either absent or impressed rather than cut. Same gun for the most part, just a cheaper dress on.
