Default Help with posting and format size.

I just ran into a problem I have encountered before and wondered if anyone can offer a solution. When posting a thread and you copy and paste an article that isn't formatted properly you end up expanding the width of the entire line of print making it necessary to scroll to read it.

I know the simple answer is to just post a link. However I think often people dont check links, only read the text of the post.

Is there anyway to make an article fit in the forums normal format?

try pasting it into a word processing program first, like (uuuggghhhhh), Word. that may help.

Depending on the site you're using, some articles have a "print version" button you can click, and it formats it without advertisements, etc. When I can, I copy and paste that format and it typically works pretty well.

I've done it graehaven's way, too, which allows me more flexibility with formatting if needed.

ROMT:

Word processors like word can interject their own set of problems.

Use a PLAIN TEXT editor.
If you use Windows, this is the procedure:

Copy the article.
Open Notepad.
Paste it into notepad.
Copy it from notepad.
Paste it here.

This changes it into plain text, removing ALL formatting from it.
Once here in your posting window, you can format it any way you wish using the tools here, and never get a glitch.

Pictures are another problem.
You may need to put them into an art program and edit the dimensions of them until they will fit here without stretching the page.
