I think the handle rod connecting the delving capacitor tore away and struck the wallow arm. Had to be that. Can't think of anything else.

I can only imagine that the story starts out something like " but I've always shot those loads in this gun......" , "never had that happen before" or "ya mean I don't just fill up the case and put the bullet on top??"

One of the more ugly KB's I've seen pics of.

I guess "the most powerful handgun in the world" isn't so powerful anymore Maybe that's what Dirty harry meant when he said, "Capable of taking your head clean off."

Well I'd have to say IMO that it was a way to hot of load...and maybe hand loaded and the person was a tad-bit off on the powder measurement? Just sad to see a S&W done that way...and all I know is that I wouldnt be anywhere in the proximity of that unit when the fireing pin connected to the primer! Talk about the big bang theory.

Yup 22 grains each one and don't forget the mag primer.

It looks like 3 went off at the same time or did the top one go and take the other two with it. Thats just obscene what it did to that firearm.

That's the scary thing about reloading for several different pistols &/or rifles. T/C Contenders & Ruger Super Blackhawks have a different load sheet in most, if not all reloading manuals due to their stronger bbls/actions. Go to the range with more than 1 pistol / revolver, get the rds mixed up on the bench when some nubie distracts you & wants to know "whatcha shootin?" &....

K'BOOOOM

I sure hope anyone standing nearby didn't catch any shrapnel.

Thanks for posting the pictures Mike!

Barrel obstruction? The cylinder is the weak point... First shot had no powder, primer fire only and enough to lodge the bullet in the barrel. second shot made the shooter crap himself/

Reloaded for 357 maximum not 357 magnum? In the reloaders guide they are only 1 page apart.

If you visit you tube you have to see this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lzri8dn7p0

He probably owned the gun mentioned above. Boys will be boys, but doing that stuff will decide if they live long enough to become men.
