He was one of the greatest Americans of all time. Truly a historic day for you. You being there, will help the boys remember it too.

How are ya'll getting along?

Well, the kids are squirrely whenever there is down time, much like me. Just kidding. I am actually getting worn out, but my family has the idea that we'll take a day of rest tomorrow, like we did on Wednesday. Sunday is a hugely busy day, we are going to the dreaded Washington, DC area. Eeek! If I get to see some museums and things, I'll be happy.

DC is pretty cool. I was a volunteer lobbyist for a number of years and tried to hit some of the art museums and monuments while I was there. Some awesome restaurants there. This one Indian restaurant.. Oh my. Their food was soooo gooood!

Great place to visit short term, but I could never live there, or anywhere on the east coast.

I hate big, crowded cities. Much like NYC, I am going just for the experience of going and the possibility of a great museum. I am a country mouse! My brother's house is nice and secluded back in the woods. I half expect a sasquatch to wander by when I'm drinking my coffee in the morning by the window in the kitchen.

I'd like to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I don't like big cities. I do like museums.

How are you and big brother getting along?

Just fine, my brother is fantastic. He talks nonstop, makes me laugh.

I think we're going to find the Korean War Memorial, our dad was in the Army and spent some time in a foxhole one winter.

I should have brought sturdier shoes.....

That should be emotional, tough men in those days. Those boys need to know their granddad was a hero.

Good for ya'll to take them. They and you will always remember this trip.

I'm proud of you.

did not save a whole bunch ( the mosins where $90 each and came with bayonet, sling, 2 sets of pouches and oiling can... all for $90 each gun.)

Also got some bells and whisles... lets see if I can get pics up later.

but now I can officaly say, christmas shoping is over... I spent $700, All on gun relaited stuff.

Personaly I think the one day mad dash to get it over with is best.... otherswise I will forget untill christmas morning.

90% of success in life is just showing up.

My original aim was to make friends. I'm happy with my new friends.
It is, afterall, challenging with any long distance relationship.

I was going to but I do not have a ton of money, and pretty much all I NEED right now is a car stereo, and did not see any tantalizing deals on those. I could USE an Xbox (fortunately my brother shares for now) but those never really go on sale so no reason to jump for Black Friday (I could have gotten a few crappy games for free is all).

I WAS however looking forward to snagging a sweet looking $35 chair on Walmart as I constantly fight over the one comfy chair in the office with my parents. It said it went on sale (online) on Friday... so I checked at midnight, not up yet, well maybe they just late... checked periodically and never yet available to purchase... until all the sudden when I checked at 12:40 they were sold out! I was bummed .

James, you did hear about the million plus people that got their XBOXs banned right?

Make sure if you get a used one that it connects to LIVE first. Either that or know how to by pass the lifetime ban. (not sure if there is a 'fix' out there yet)
