Default 22 Mag pistols

I didn't realize there were 22 mag pistols until a couple days ago.

Are auto 22 pistols available too, or are all 22 mag pistols revolvers?

Any suggestions on best reasonably priced manufacturers?

Thanks,

MH 22

The .22 magnum pistols are a lot of fun, I got a used German .22/.22 magnum revolver (both cylinders) at a gun show about a year ago. I swear I saw a semi-auto .22 magnum somewhere, but I could be mistaken. Maybe someone else can vouch for it?

I have some north american arms mini revolvers that are 22mag. Cute little buggers.

AMT used to make one. Then, later, High Standard brought it back, after AMT quit making it. Don't know if it's still available, though.

maghead,
There are currently 2 manufacturers offering semi auto pistols in 22 magnum, that I know of.

High Standard of Houston, now has the AMT Automag II
Presently costs about $ 700.
Expect a wait if you order one.
Had a few problems with feeding at first. Is much better now that is is broke in.
Nice fit and finish. Accuracy ok.

Excel Arms offers the Accelerator MP-22
Around $ 400 ( Without the Leupold of course! )
Pistol is very large, 8" barrel
Eats anything I feed it, without complaint.
Accuracy is excellent.
Lifetime warranty.
I really like this pistol.

Are they as loud as a NAA mini mag 22 magnum?

Never heard the naa, so I really can't say. But, yes, the Automag is very loud, also has a real nice muzzleblast in low light!
Excel, not as bad.
